Community College in Washington NC. During this meeting, students of the community college<\/span>
as well as surrounding high schools learned about why the American Welding Society is<\/span>
important to us as welders, as well as how to join and the benefits of becoming a<\/span>
member(Opportunities, scholarships, etc.). Mark Sapp of section 137 gave the presentation to the<\/span>
students while they were fed Subway sandwiches for dinner, after Mark\u2019s presentation local<\/span>
vendors (Arc 3, Airgas, and Dillon Supply) gave a small presentation about what they do for the<\/span>
community and what they sell. After the vendor presentation, there was a raffle for AWS hats.<\/span>
After the meeting concluded the instructors of BCC, Ted Clayton and Eric Braddy gave a tour of<\/span>
their shop as well as a sculpture that was made by Braddy and some of his students that is now<\/span>
on campus. Section 137 is also in talks with the instructors of BCC to formulate a welding<\/span>
competition for eastern NC colleges and high schools at the beginning of 2025.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
