The January American Welding Society Nashville & Holston Valley Sections meetings (1\/21\/21 at 6:00PM CST), will be a joint virtual Zoom meeting consisting of an AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code – Steel, welder qualification\/certification training\/discussion session. Gerald Austin will share his knowledge of AWS D1.1, and review AWS D1.1 welder qualification processes and procedures, sharing knowledge around the proper use of AWS D1.1. <\/span><\/span><\/p>

Our presenter Gerald Austin, is currently Chair of the AWS District 8 Holston Valley Section, and has been part of the welding industry for 40 years as a student, welder, inspector, supervisor, and consultant. Gerald is also currently an instructor at the Greene County Career and Technical Center, in Greenville TN.<\/p>

As Chair of the Nashville Section and a Welding Engineer, I can assure you there are not enough folks (including myself) that fully understand the requirements of AWS D1.1. The knowledge we gain should prove valuable, and participants will earn Professional Development Hours.<\/p>
