AIDT Maritime Training Center will be hosting our Section’s Meeting on February 13th at 6:00 PM CST. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Our Speaker for this month will be Mr. Fred Kiel of Midalloy Alloy Welding Products Inc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Floyd Kiel is a Welding Engineer\/Regional Manager for Midalloy Inc. focused on end-user applications of high-performance filler metals. Previously he has worked for various machinery and subsea equipment manufacturers concentrating on weld automation. He graduated from LeTourneau University in 1983 with a degree in Welding Engineering Technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This month\u2019s presentation will feature Steel Catenrary Riser WPS Development. This presentation will provide an overview of the process to qualify a welding procedure for a steel catenary riser (SCR) for a typical Gulf of Mexico application. This will include design codes, materials, weld preparation, welding, NDT, destructive-testing and final documentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
