Greetings Members, This month our Section meeting focuses on AWS Scholarships and how to apply for them. Since 1991, the AWS Foundation has helped students from around the world to realize their dreams and make them a reality. AWS Foundation scholarships help students with their financial obligations; they help to cover a variety of school expenses such as tuition and fees, books and other supplies. The American Welding Society has many scholarships that are available and on a national, district and section level. On our District and Section level there is over $50,000 of funds available for scholarships. We want to make sure that anyone interested in applying has all the information they need to do so. If you are interested or know of anyone that may be interested in applying we strongly encourage attending this meeting. The online application portal is now open at: https://www.aws.org/foundation/page/scholarships Remember to connect with us via Facebook! Find us by searching “American Welding Society Mobile Section” or at www.facebook.com/AwsMobileSection. Also, remember to share your email address with us. Most all of our communication is now electronic. We welcome your attendance, ideas, and support. Please ask a friend to join you in attending this month’s meeting! Thank you for supporting AWS and your Mobile Section. Tim DeVargas |
