Greetings Mobile Section Members and Friends,
This month we will meet at the Aviation Center of Excellence in Crestview, FL. I want to encourage all of you to attend and bring a guest. Come out and enjoy some good food and fellowship with other AWS and industry members. This should be an exciting meeting, and we encourage all AWS members in the area to come out and attend.
Our speaker for the night will be Christopher Abadia, USAF, Retired Director of Aviation Northwest Florida State College. Christopher Abadia is the Director of Aviation at the Aviation Center of Excellence, a Part 147 Aircraft Maintenance Technician School at Northwest Florida State College. His career in aviation began with service to the United States Air Force as an Aircraft maintenance technician on the CV-22 Osprey. In 2013, he was deployed to the Horn of Africa in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Christopher developed a career as an Aircraft Maintainer, Quality Assurance Manager, and Safety Manager for a Close Air Support (CAS) contractor serving the training needs of the nation’s Special Forces. In 2021, he was honored to have the opportunity to shift his career to focus on education, joining Northwest Florida State College as Assistant Professor for the Airframe and Powerplant programs. Christopher holds active FAA Airframe and Powerplant mechanic’s ratings as well as a Remote Pilot rating. He is an Alumni of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics and a Master of Science in Aeronautics with a specialization in Aviation Safety.
The meeting is open to the public, but they must sign up through Eventbrite. We want the public to see what AWS is about and strengthen our membership. There is limited space, so we encourage everyone to register as soon as possible. However, if you register and find that you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration via Eventbrite so that we can have an accurate count for catering. The meeting is free to all and dinner is provided by the section. We want to have enough for everyone to enjoy, but food cost is expensive and we do not want it to go to waste. Additionally, by keeping our cost down, we can continue to provide our meetings at no cost to you.
