Greetings Mobile Section Members and Friends,
This month’s speaker will be Cassaundra Dole, Chief of Training for General Dynamic’s Electric Boat Austal location.
For over 125 years Electric Boat has been building submarines for the U.S. Navy. With a workforce of over 23,000 employees spanning multiple locations, Electric Boat is one of the greatest shipbuilding companies worldwide. As Chief of Training, Cassaundra will be providing us with an inside view of what it means to be a welder for submarine construction at Electric Boat. With a renewed push from the U.S. Navy for the Columbia Class Submarine, Electric Boat is HIRING!
As our final meeting of the month, we will be awarding (3) grand prizes to the students that have attended the most meetings this year. Make sure you do not miss this last meeting as it will count towards the final selection.
There is limited space, so we encourage everyone to register as soon as possible. You must register for us to have enough food for everyone to enjoy. However, if you register and find that you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration via Eventbrite so that we can have an accurate count for catering.
STUDENTS – We have great prizes this year, so please attend this meeting. Also, students we encourage you to sign up for an AWS membership. Student membership is now FREE! It costs you nothing to join, but everything to gain. Please encourage your peers and family members to attend this meeting.
Instructors – Please post this meeting notice in an area around your school that is easily accessible to your welding students and any student interested in a dynamic career as a design engineer. We are now utilizing Eventbrite for registration so students will need to start registering themselves to attend. You are more than welcome to forward them this meeting notice, but even easier simply print it out and they can scan the above QR Code with their phone to link to our Eventbrite registration page.
