Scholarships range from $2,500 \u2013 $10,000+.<\/p><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aws.org\/foundation\/page\/district-scholarships\"><strong>District Scholarships<\/strong><\/a><strong><br \/><\/strong>A minimum of $15,000 is available in each of AWS\u2019s 22 Districts for students pursuing a degree or certificate in a welding or welding-related program. Scholarships typically range from $1,000 to $2,500+.<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aws.org\/foundation\/page\/section-named-and-district-named-scholarships\"><strong>Section and District Named Scholarships<\/strong><\/a><\/p><p><strong>Central Nebraska Section Scholarship<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Karl Fogleman \u2013 District 16 Scholarship<\/strong><\/p><p>This scholarship was named for Karl Fogleman District 16 Director on February 3, 2018<\/p><ul><li>This Scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing a career in welding or welding related courses<\/li><li>Applicant must have a minimum high school diploma or GED.<\/li><li>Proof of financial need is required<\/li><li>Applicant must be a US Citizen<\/li><li>Applicant must reside in District 16<\/li><li>Preference will be given to an AWS Member<\/li><\/ul><p><strong><span class=\"header\">Kansas Section Scholarship<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p><strong><u>Introduction<br \/><\/u><\/strong>The Kansas Section Scholarship was established in 2013 as a means to provide educational support to those pursuing Career and Technical Education in the field of Welding Technology. Through the works of the fundraising committee they were able to raise the funds and leave a lasting scholarship that could benefit the students of Kansas for years to come. This scholarship is designated for those that are entering either a two-year or 4 year institution with the goal of obtaining an associate\u2019s or bachelor\u2019s degree in welding technology or a similarly related field.<\/p><p align=\"left\"><u><strong>Purpose<br \/><\/strong><\/u>To help the future generation of welders within the state of Kansas meet the goals of the workforce by providing educational opportunities to those entering college and studying the field of Welding Technology at a Kansas Institution.<\/p><p><u><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/u><\/p><ul><li>Applicant must have a minimum high school diploma or GED.<\/li><li>Applicant must have a 2.5 overall grade point average.<\/li><li>Applicant must provide a letter indicating how they will use their welding education.<\/li><li>Student must be enrolled full time in the Welding Program or Technical Related Field.<\/li><li>Proof of financial need is not required to qualify.<\/li><li>Applicant must submit all required application information.<\/li><li>Applicant must be a citizen of the United States and plan to attend an academic institution located within the state of Kansas.<\/li><li>Applicant must be a citizen of the United States and reside in the state of Kansas.<\/li><li>Applicants may reapply; however, persons who have received this award may reapply and may be granted the award for a maximum of 2 years.<\/li><li>Applicant must provide two letters of reference.<\/li><li>Personal Statement<\/li><li>Ability to work well with others<\/li><li>Organizational skills (ability to handle multiple tasks, time management)<\/li><li>Participation in class, campus and outside organizations<\/li><li>Participation in AWS Student and Section activities<\/li><li>General Background information<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Career Objectives<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Original Official Transcript(s) sent directly from the college or university; high school students entering their first year of a welding program must provide an original official high school transcript.<\/li><li>Essay \u2013 i.e., \u201cWhy I Want to Pursue a Career in Welding\u201d.\u00a0 All essays should be 300-500 words in length.<\/li><\/ul><p><u><strong>Selection<\/strong><\/u><br \/>The recipient will be chosen by a Selection Committee comprised of the Executive board of the Kansas Section.<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aws.org\/foundation\/page\/welder-training-scholarship\"><strong>Welder Training Scholarship<\/strong><\/a><br \/>For students seeking welder training in a certificate program less than two years in length through a trade school, community college, or other facility providing welder training.\u00a0Each District has a minimum of 25 &#8211; $1,000 scholarships to award.\u00a0Applications are accepted January-November and selections are made on a rolling basis until the District awards the designated funds for the year.<\/p><h2><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Apply for AWS Foundation Scholarships at <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/scholarship.aws.org\/applications\/\"><strong>scholarship.aws.org<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Scholarships The American Welding Society Foundation awards over $2.7 million annually for education and training in welding and related fields!
