Presentation Title: Welding Productivity\u2014Measurement & Optimization<\/p>\n

Abstract\n<\/strong>Time is money. Maximizing the bottom line in a competitive economic landscape means all available resources\u2014cents and seconds\u2014must be utilize to absolute fullest.<\/p>\n

This presentation serves as an introduction to the broad field of welding economics\u2014the understanding of actual welding process cost. The calculations involved in determining welding process cost are not particularly complex but this presentation aims to identify some of the many contributors to total cost and cycle time, how these contributors can be measured, and how they may influence overall manufacturing process cost and workflow.<\/p>\n

Welding economics is introduced as a stepping stone to the discussion of welding process optimization. Parameter adjustment and filler metal\/process selection will be highlighted as two key methods in the reduction of welding process cost.<\/p>\n
