Just Touching Base<\/h1><\/div><\/div><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Hello AWS Holston Valley Section Members,<\/p>

As your AWS Holston valley Chairman, I would like to talk about a few things and hopefully get some feedback on some topics related to what we can do to better serve our members.<\/p>

I have been the Chairman for the past few years and needless to say, they have been interesting years with the events that have taken place (or haven’t taken place).<\/p>

Attending meetings in person has been a struggle and the idea of “One more zoom meeting!” could sometimes be pretty difficult to bear.<\/p>

As of right now, there are no AWS Holston Valley Section Meetings scheduled with a firm date. I have contacted a few industries in my region regarding tours and it appears things are better now but nothing has been confirmed. One event being planned is a welding contest here in Greeneville on a Saturday around mid to late March. If you would like to have some input into the contest, please let me know. This would be a good SkillsUSA warmup but this is not a SkillsUSA only contest.<\/p>

There are new training facilities that have recently expanded that seem receptive to hosting a meeting. We have already met this year at West Ridge High School in Blountville TN, and Northeast State Community College in Blountville TN. There is also a possibility we can tour the new facility in at TCAT-Morristown.<\/p>

I am hoping we can get together a few more times this spring and summer and meet face to face. I would love to hear from Section members about what your interests are related to AWS Section Activities.\u00a0What would you like to participate in?<\/p>

I am not sending a link to a survey or form. What I would like you to do is email our Section at\u00a0holstonvalley@awssections.org<\/a>\u00a0with any thoughts or ideas you may have.<\/p>

Also, we will be looking for anyone interested in being an AWS Section Officer for the upcoming year. If you are interested or know someone that is, please contact any Holston Valley Section Officer or use the email above.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/div><\/div><\/div>
