Join us May 22nd for a conversation on AWS Weld Inspection, Conventional Ultrasonic and Phased Array Techniques

We are pleased to announce that the Event for May will be the a presentation by Randy Jones, Western Regional Manager, Engineer and ASNT Level III Inspector for Baker Hughes, a GE company.

He will be covering the topics of AWS Weld Inspection, Conventional Ultrasonic and Phased Array Techniques. Have you ever wondered how ultrasonic techniques reveal flaws in welds? How does phased array ultrasonic work and how does it show an image rather than a trace. Come see this presentation and you will probably learn something.

In 1982, there were very few companies hiring electronics engineers with very little, or no experience. After numerous interviews and the subsequent letters of rejection, the Garrett Turbine Engine Company finally hired Randy. While at Garrett, he performed research and development on automated systems for inspection of new engine components. In 1985, Krautkramer hired Randy as a Technical Sales Engineer to sell ultrasonic instruments. With the fall of the Iron Curtain that resulted in severe cutbacks in the defense and aerospace markets it was time for a change. In 1991, Mobile Inspection employed Randy at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station to support their erosion/corrosion program followed by the large steam turbine project. In 1996, Randy returned to selling Krautkramer instruments with a greater knowledge of how to support his customers. Inspection Technologies, Inc. became the manufacturers’ representative for Krautkramer in 2001. Randy joined the cast at ITI to complete the show. Last February Randy accepted an offer from GE to cover their portable UT and ET instrumentation and applications.
