The American Welding Society Foundation awards over $2 million annually for education and training in welding and related fields!<\/strong><\/p> Students in the Greater Huntsville Section may be eligible for the following scholarships:<\/p> National, District, and Section Scholarships – Deadline March 1st for the following fall term<\/strong><\/span><\/p> National Scholarships<\/a> District Scholarships<\/a> Section and District Named Scholarships<\/a><\/strong><\/p> Greater Huntsville Section Scholarship<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p> This scholarship is named after the Greater Huntsville Section. The Greater Huntsville Section is always interested in assisting the welding education system. It was through the dedication of our section members that funds were raised to make this scholarship available. The Greater Huntsville Section of AWS would like to see a recipient of this scholarship who shares their dedication to welding and their value of a good work ethic attitude.<\/p> Rayburn Johnson Scholarship<\/strong><\/p> This scholarship is named after a member of the Greater Huntsville Section who has been a member of AWS for over 40 years. Rayburn has been a vital part of our section and a great sponsor of welding education. It was his dedication and work ethic towards the welding industry that prompted the section to name this scholarship in honor of him. The Greater Huntsville Section of AWS would like to see a recipient of this scholarship who shares Rayburn’s dedication to welding and his value of a good work ethic attitude.<\/p> Too Mitchell Memorial Scholarship & T<\/strong>oo Mitchell Memorial\/NASA Friends & Family Scholarship<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p> Established in memory of Carl “Too” Mitchell, graduate of Northwest Shoals Community College Welding Program and welder for NASA on Redstone Arsenal through the Millwrights. This scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing welding education in the AWS Greater Huntsville Section.<\/p> Awards may be split among multiple recipients.<\/em><\/p> District 8 Women of Gases & Welding Scholarship<\/strong><\/p> Founded in November 2011, the Women of Gases & Welding (WGW) has a mission to enhance the success of women in the gases and welding industry through advocacy, recruitment, and professional development. Functioning as a committee within GAWDA (Gases and Welding Distributors Association), WGW designs professional development programming for women at national conferences and engages sponsors to support programming and scholarships for women.<\/p> Jimmy Walker Sr.\/Saf-T-Cart Scholarship<\/strong><\/p> This scholarship is for a student who is enrolled in the Welding Program at Coahoma Community College.<\/p> Gary Enders Scholarship<\/strong><\/p> This scholarship was established by nexAir in honor of Gary Enders.<\/p> Welder Training Scholarship<\/strong><\/a> Applications are accepted January-November and selections are made on a rolling basis until the District awards the designated funds for the year.<\/p> The American Welding Society Foundation awards over $2 million annually for education and training in welding and related fields! <\/strong>For students pursuing a specific degree at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university. Scholarships range from $3,000 – $5,000+.
<\/strong><\/p>
<\/strong>A minimum of $15,000 is available in each of AWS’s 22 Districts for students pursuing a degree or certificate in a welding or welding-related program. Scholarships typically range from $1,000 to $2,500+.<\/p>
For students seeking welder training in a certificate program less than two years in length through a trade school, community college, or other facility providing welder training.
