AWS Connecticut invites you to our Damascus Forge Welding Demo Event on Wednesday, September 23rd!
Matthew Parkinson will be leading a tour of Dragons Breath Forge, as well as demonstrating forge welding a Damascus billet on the power hammer. Matthew will be discussing the equipment, materials and processes used to make the billet of Damascus.
Matthew Parkinson is an accomplished bladesmith, blacksmith, educator, and co-owner of Dragon’s Breath Forge. Inspired by a childhood fascination with traditional blacksmithing, Matt has spent more than 30 years honing his craft and sharing his knowledge with others. A Journeyman Smith with the American Bladesmith Society, he has taught at leading craft schools across the country and has been featured in numerous industry publications. Matt is also widely recognized as the champion of the first episode of the History Channel’s Forged in Fire, where he forged a katana that famously split a bullet. Passionate about preserving and advancing the craft, Matt continues to teach, create, and inspire the next generation of smiths.
