Greetings AWS Cleveland Section Members and Friends,<\/p>
Click here to view the October 2018 Section Meeting Notice<\/strong><\/a><\/p> Those attending the meeting will have the chance to weld with stainless steel, nickel, and cobalt alloys. All of the common open arc welding processes will be demonstrated; SMAW (stick), GMAW (mig), GTAW (tig), and FCAW-G (gas shielded flux cored). Safety gear (helmet, gloves, and welding jacket) can be provided to those who want to try welding but do not have their own gear. If you plan on welding during the meeting, please be sure to wear the appropriate clothing.<\/p> Mike Barrett has worked at Lincoln Electric for 11 years. He is in the Application Engineering Department and supports low alloy, stainless, and nickel alloy products. Mike has a degree in Welding Engineering form the Ohio State University and has served as chairman of the AWS Cleveland Section in the past.<\/p> We\u2019ll meet in the auditorium of the main building at Lincoln Electric, 22801 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44117. The meeting will start at 6 pm and dinner will be served at 6:30 pm. We need an accurate head count to insure there\u2019s enough meals for everyone. Reservations should be made through Enventbrite<\/strong><\/a>. The cost of the dinner is $18 dollars (10$ for students) when reservations are made with Eventbrite. Dinner rates are $20 ($11 students) when paying at the door. The meeting will be on Tuesday, October 9th at 6 pm. Mike Barrett, Application Engineer for the Lincoln Electric Company, will give a brief talk on the different welding processes used for alloy welding. The talk will be followed by hands on welding using different welding processes and alloys.<\/p>
