Greetings AWS Cleveland Section Members and Friends,<\/p>
Click here to view the April 2019 Section Meeting Notice<\/strong><\/a><\/p> Dan Harrison is a welding instructor, CWI, and the Education Committee chair for the Cleveland AWS Section. Dan is also a metal artist. You may remember Dan from a previous meeting where he taught how to fabricate roses out of copper sheets.<\/p> Dan will show metal working techniques using a propane forge and an anvil. During the meeting, Dan will forge rods into bar and will also work with metal railroad spikes. While working, he will discuss several different techniques used for forging. Dan will also talk about how forging has changed over the years.<\/p> We\u2019ll meet at the Polaris Career Center<\/strong>, 7285 Old Oak Blvd., Middleburg Hts, OH\u00a044130.\u00a0 Dinner will be served at 6:30 pm.\u00a0 Dan\u2019s demonstration will begin at 7:15 pm.<\/p> This section meeting qualifies for 1 Personal Development Hour Credit. A form for tracking PDHs is available at the Welcome Table and can be used to track PDHs at Cleveland Section meetings and other technical society meetings.<\/p> RSVP<\/strong> with Mike Barrett via phone or email. Have you ever wanted to learn the art of forging? The AWS Cleveland Section May meeting is for you! Dan Harrison will discuss forging and perform a demonstration.<\/p>
We need an accurate head count to insure there\u2019s enough meals for everyone. The cost of the dinner is $18 dollars ($20 without reservations). Students\u2019 meals are free for this meeting if they RSVP.<\/p>
