The Cleveland AWS section will be hosting a meeting on Wednesday, November 19th at 6:00 pm. The meeting will take place at OWETEC Services located at 9841 York Alpha Drive, Unit J, North Royalton, Ohio 44133. Please note, this meeting is on Wednesday!
Mike Barrett will talk about temper bead weld repair used in nuclear power plants. Mike will discuss what temper bead welding is, what kind of repairs it is used for, and how to qualify a temper bead welding procedure. Mike will also talk about a first of a kind repair that was recently performed using the temper bead welding process.
Mike is a principal welding engineer for the Westinghouse Electric company. He has worked in the welding industry for welding industry for 18 years and has a welding engineering degree from The Ohio State University. He is involved with many AWS and ASME committees and is chair of the Nickel Filler Metal committee and Vice Chair of the Committee on Procedure and Performance Qualification.
Dinner and drinks will be supplied by the AWS Cleveland Section. There will no charge to attend this meeting. Please RSVP so we can make sure there is enough food for everyone.
