The Cleveland AWS section will be hosting an in-person meeting on Tuesday, January 14th at 6:00 pm at St. Demetrios Cultural Center located at 22909 Center Ridge Rd, Rocky River, Ohio 44116.
Roger Kostreba will speak about what CWI’s should watch for while witnessing various Non-Destructive Test (NDT) methods. During the presentation, he will demonstrate the Ultrasonic Testing (UT) process and show how to calibrate an ultrasonic flaw detector to AWS D1.1.
Roger Kostreba is the NDE Manager for Kostreba’s Inspection and Training, LLC. He operates the NDE program and performs employee and equipment qualifications to the program. The program is includes visual (VT), penetrant (PT), magnetic particle (MT), and ultrasonic (UT) methods of testing. Roger has 14 years of experience in the welding industry and 8 years in inspection. Roger’s past work experience in inspection includes the defense, bridge, and structural steel industries.
Dinner and drinks will be served during the meeting. The cost is $20 at the door, or $18 if you RSVP by Saturday, January 11th.
