Stainless Steel Bridge Fabrication

James Gravley will talk about current and future bridge projects that are fabricated from a new grade of bridge steel, ASTM A709 Gr 50CR. He will also discuss the progress of getting this material added to the next edition of AWS D1.5 Bridge Welding Code.

James has worked in the welding industry for more than 22 years and has 15 years of bridge inspection experience. He is involved with many AWS committees including the Subcommittee on Bridge Welding (D1J), Subcommittee on Stainless Steel (D1K), Committee on Methods of Inspection (B1), and many others. He also holds many certifications; AWS CWI, AWS CWS, AWS CRI, and other inspection certifications from NACE and ICC. Jim currently works for KTA-Bridge Inspection as an Inspection Supervisor.
