Greetings AWS Carolina Section Members and Friends, The next meeting of AWS Carolina Section (#87) will take place on April 30, Monday at 5:00pm at GTCC. The educational topic: “How to convert Good Austenitic Stainless Steel Filler Metal into Bad Welds” by Damian Kotecki, PE, PhD, AWS President (2005-2006). Dr. Kotecki regularly publishes articles on welding stainless steel in the Welding Journal and is co-author of “Welding Metallurgy And Weldability Of Stainless Steels”. 1.2. Information about new Welding Center Building at GTCC – by Donald Ellington (Department Chair, Assistant Professor Welding Technology at Guilford Technical Community College). 2.
