February 28, 2022 – Tuscaloosa, AL

The AWS Birmingham Alabama Section officers were present at the 28th annual “Welding Teacher Technical Update Workshop for high school and community college welding teachers in Alabama. Lincoln Electric has been a major sponsor for all 28 years, and the Birmingham section has participated during most of that time. This year’s workshop was held at UA Local 372 Plumbers and Pipefitters in Duncanville, Alabama with 69 welding instructors attending. This year’s attendance represented 80% of all welding teachers in Alabama. During the workshop, three welding hoods were presented to welding educators for their students selected by registering at the Birmingham AWS Section display and collecting information regarding scholarships and “Women in Welding” information.
