Event Summary: ON SEPT. 15-16th 2025, the ATL. SECTION held the Dist. 5 leadership summit in SAVANNAH GA. hosted by our great student chapter at SAVANNAH TECH.COLLEGE.
ATL. SECT. chairman ROBERT TRUDELLE, TRES/1ST VICE CHAIR RACHEL HENRY conducted the summit. ATL. secretary RENE’ ENGERON assisted taking notes and pictures and DIST. DIRECTOR DARYL PETERSON provided his leadership and spoke on many important topics.
The participants were section members, instructors and engineering students looking to learn about leadership positions in their sections. The summit lasted 2 days covering important leadership information.
The summit was a great success and included a great tour at MITSUBISHI POWER who manufactures and repairs power generation turbines and who is a local supporting company for SAVANNAH TECHNICAL COLLEGE. That evening the group enjoyed a wonderful night of fellowshipand fun with dinner and a SAVANNAH trolley ghost tour. The next day we continued the training , beakout sessions and provided with a special presentation, demonstration and hands-on opportunities by SIDNEY LEE WELDING SUPPLY and owner ZANE LEE and technical expert TODD BREARLEY. The participants really enjoyed this so a special shout out to SIDNEY LEE WELDING SUPPLY for all their hard work.We would also like to give a big shout out to SAVANNAH TECHNICL COLLEGE administration, to the welding instructor JONATHAN HINNANT- welding dept. head/instructor for their tireless efforts in supporting this event.
ROBERT TRUDELLE and RENE’ ENGERON presented attendee ASHLEY SMITH with our ATL. SECT. WAYNE J ENGERON SR foundation scholarship.
During the MITSUBISHI POWER tour ROBERT TRUDELLE and DIST. DIRECTOR DARYL PETERSON presented JULIA STILES and CRYSTAL PORTER with meritorious student chapter awards for their positions held on the student chapter board. Both are employed by Mitsubishi Power.
