American Welding Society (AWS)<\/h4>\nThe American Welding Society (AWS) was founded in 1919, as a nonprofit organization with a global mission to advance the science, technology and application of welding and allied joining and cutting processes, including brazing, soldering and thermal spraying. AWS strives to move the industry forward in both thought and action, as well as inspire new generations to see the exciting career opportunities available today.\n

AWS Alberta Section Sponsorship<\/h4>\nSponsorship is one of the primary support mechanisms our\u00a0Valued Sponsors<\/a>\u00a0provide to the AWS Alberta Section. We very much appreciate all the support provided by our sponsors. The AWS Alberta Section has created several self-perpetuating local scholarships with the funds obtained from its Annual Seminar, Dinner Meetings and from Sponsorship. The AWS Alberta Section creates and maintains scholarships to support individuals developing careers related to welding. How Does Sponsorship Help Us Support the Welding Industry in Alberta?<\/h4>\nTo date, Sponsorship has helped the AWS Alberta Section establish a total of 5 self-perpetuating scholarships: our first scholarship was established with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training, followed by the University of Alberta, NAIT, SAIT and lastly through the AWS Foundation. These scholarships are intended to aid the next generation of welders, technologists, engineers and instructors in the welding and joining industry.\n
