Over 100 teachers from various teaching disciplines were nominated for this honor. Peter has been a welding teacher for 23 years and is a CWI in addition to his many other qualifications. Peter is a strong advocate for CTE education through his local volunteer efforts and travels to the state and US capitols to lobby for increased welding education funding. Peter will represent Alaska at the National Teacher of the Year event in Washington, DC.
