Time<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below is are brief notes from the <strong>AWS ALASKA Section 125 meeting on Feb. 19, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Attendees: Dennis L., Leslie D., Jose O., Don G., Pete D.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New bylaws were presented, motion made.\u00a0 There were no objections so motion passed and new Bylaws were accepted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Industry and welding supplier\u2019s participation in\u00a0AWS\u00a0and the\u00a0Alaska\u00a0Section.\u00a0 Gil would ask around.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jose has reached out to local schools, like UAA, AVTEC, and others to let them know about student membership and gauge interest in student chapter.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>AI: He suggested a flyer that gives more details.\u00a0 Leslie agreed to ask AWS National for this.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SkillsUSA happening in Anchorage at the end of March.\u00a0 Pete has students going.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>AI:\u00a0 Dennis wanted more information and was going to read website and reach out to Pete<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pete is running girls in welding program in Fairbanks in June.\u00a0 May be a good for AWS to host lunch and talk to girls about welding careers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dennis is signed up for District 19 meeting and Pete is registered for AWS instructor\u2019s institute.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leslie suggested getting a nationally known speaker and volunteered to look into it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next meeting is Tuesday, April 15 from noon-1:00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div
