Creighton H. Moore Jr. passed peacefully with his wife Patty by his side on Friday, June 12, 2026.
Creighton graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School, Wyalusing, PA, in 1976. In May 1977, he joined the United States Air Force (USAF), entered basic training, and then went to training and completed as a Metal Processing Specialist.
In December 1977, Creighton and his family moved to Anchorage, Alaska, as he reported for duty at Elmendorf Air Force Base (EAFB). He went from EAFB to Langley AFB where he was discharged from active duty in May 1981.
Creighton and Patty moved back to Anchorage, Alaska, arriving July 4, 1981. After arriving in Alaska, Creighton worked in the welding industry private sector as a welder, fabricator, NDT technician, and welding inspector. In 1988, he enlisted in the Alaska Air Guard, working as a Non-Destructive Technician and becoming the shop fabrication Supervisor until he retired in 2017.
Creighton’s welding achievements include being an American Welding Society (AWS) Life Member, AWS Alaska Section 125 Member, AWS-CWI (30 Years), AWS Alaska Section 125 Treasurer (1998-2025), ASNT Member, and USAF/Alaska Air Guard at JBER metal shop supervisor.
Creighton, of stellar character, contributed to AWS Alaska Section 125, the broader Alaskan welding community, and the state as a whole.
Creighton was a devoted Catholic, an active member of the Knights of Columbus, and served the less fortunate through Catholic outreach ministries at prisons in Alaska.
