SECTIONS 1st SPONSERED HIGH SCHOOL WELDING COMPETITION HELD At GREENFILED EDUCATION CENTER.
The following schools participated: Jackson River Technical Center, Giles Technical Center, Arnold R. Burton Technology Center, William Fleming High School, Floyd County, Patrick Henry High School, and Botetourt Technology Education Center. Each school had an opportunity to sign up two students (Snacks and drinks were provided by the section). Over all, the competition was a success due to the professionalism of the students involved, and the instructor’s preparation before the competition. We would like to thank Greenfield Education Center for allowing us to use their facility and Lynchburg Steel and Specialty Co. for donating the coupons for the competition. Mike Bryant welding instructor at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College was the competitions facilitator, what an excellent job of over seeing the competition and keeping it running as planned.
