SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS: In the next three months our section will make District Scholarship funds available to deserving students. If anyone is interested in applying for this money, please contact me at 650 596-9435 and I will forward the information to you.

STUDENT LOANS: Student loans are available at very low interest for interested parties through the AWS Foundation. For information call 1-800-443-9353 (extension 293 or 212).

INVESTMENT PROGRAM: Put the Section's money to work. Sections can get information on the Section Investment Program at 1-800-443-9353 (extension 212).

DISTRICT AWARDS: 2002 Section and District Awards are coming up. They are the Howard E. Adkins Instructor Membership, CWI of the Year, Meritorious, and Private Sector Instructor awards. Notify your District Director of any nominations.

DISTRICT CONFERENCE: The District Conference is coming up. The incoming Chairman and Treasurer are encouraged to attend. For more information call 1-800-443-9353.

LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUM: The Leadership Symposium is coming up July 13 - 16 in Miami. I encourage anyone interested to apply for this trip. My wife and I went last year and had a great time. National provides lots of activities. Now is the time to get your ticket.

NEW SCHOLARSHIPS: The AWS Foundation continuous to grow in serving the welding industry and $400,000 has been allocated to students across the nation this year. New scholarships are being developed. Students who want a career in welding and joining and are being developed.
