AWS North Texas Section was glad to be a sponsor and participate in the
USA Skills Comp.
Thanks to the USA Skills Committee for having us.
It starts with the judges from all over Texas who come down to use
there expertise to choose Texas Representatives to go to the National
Comp. later this year.
Then we start the action with explaining the projects, a written test.
They start with parts and pc them together.
Then the judges go at it check the print vs. the part.
They really go over every part for the best.
The vendor force
was there with the best stuff around with local
industry and schools coming in for a visit.
Lincoln Electric
donated the welders for the comp.
The Competition was surrounded by B-B-Q of every kind all day long.

AWS was proud to be a sponsor of this years USA Skills. We are very
proud to get a chance to meet all these young welders and test their
metal. All contestants should be very proud of what you have done.
Texas High School Competition was
last April at the Ft. Worth Convention Center. Hosted by
Airgas,American Welding Soceity , Miller,Lincoln, Anchor Fab,and many
others. Robert Tessier is the MC in charge of the competition. The
contest was fierce and a few raised to the occasion.
