Senior Flextronics in Bartlett, IL seeks an experienced Robotics Programmer / Engineer. This position will be responsible for designing, programming and installing robotic systems and the associated interfacing with other factory control systems including PLCs and HMI / SCADA software. Must have proven experience in with Panasonic and/or Fanuc. Must be able to perform system design, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up. This position will be responsible for robot sizing, torque/speed calculation, and specifying products for each application.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in programming leadership as well as the ability to develop and implement standard engineering practices, as well as provide detailed documentation upon project completion. This person will be the project technical lead and may be responsible for some project management activities. A BS in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering is desired. A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position is required. Experience in Automotive, Metals, Plastics, Packaging, and Material Handling industries is a plus.

    • Provide assistance to clients by interacting directly with clients via phone, email or visits.

    EDUCATION:

    Additional knowledge, skills, abilities, certifications, and licenses

    • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
    • Previous work experience must include use and familiarity with BS EN ISO, API, AWS or ASME Section codes (e.g. Military and NAVSEA), and/or other relevant codes, standards and specifications.

    We are seeking a highly motivated individual equipped with the years of experience, using tools and software to measure and evaluate processes, provide customers and prospects with precise recommendations regarding their cutting and welding operations. Working closely with Airgas sales associates, welding process specialists offer truly significant value-added services that increase new customer signings, retain existing customers, and add significantly to Airgas sales to the metal fabrication markets.

    Qualified candidates will have high school graduate or equivalent required, 5 years experience in the gases/welding industry or supportive role, have or willingness to develop a comprehensive understanding of local laser cutting/welding/ fabrication market dynamics, automation and robotics, perform cutting and welding process measurements, process analysis and making process improvement recommendations employing Airgas product offerings.

    This position requires excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work successfully as part of a team, ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and/or government regulations, generate articulate reports, presentations and business correspondence, solve practical problems and work through unique situations, ability to interact effectively with all levels of Airgas, customer, prospective customer, and supplier personnel, proficient at automation welding and laser cutting process applications and AWS CWI certification.     GENERAL SUMMARY:

    Assist the Level II technician with the designated NDT method while gaining experience and knowledge.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Assist technicians in set-up/tear-down of equipment; perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks, calibrations and overall equipment and facilities upkeep.
    • Assist technicians in project execution and daily tasks associated with providing industrial maintenance services.

    • May only operate radiographic equipment under the direct visual watch and supervision or a radiographer or radiographic instructor.
