Robotic Arc Welding Conference

The National Robotic Arc Welding Conference began with a tour on May 11 at Miller Electric in Appleton, WI. On Tuesday, May 12, approximately 100 attendees toured the Aurora, IL Caterpillar plant followed by the presentation of the D16 Excellence in Robotic Arc Welding Award to Richard Litt of Genesis Systems, Inc. Presenations were also given by Efi Lebel (President of Smart TCP), Mike Garman (Systems Engineering Manager Kawasaki Robotics, and Bob Ellig (President of Bluco Corp.). A reception, dinner, and the Milwaukee Section May meeting was attended by 143 people at the Best Western Milwaukee Airport hotel. The evening's keynote speaker was Donald A. Vincent, Executive Vice President Emeritus – Robotic Industries Association. A presentation of the AWS Milwwaukee Section Scholarship Awards for 2009 was also given.
The conference continued on May 13 at the Milwaukee Area Technical College's Center for Energy Conservation and Advanced Manufacturing with approximately 100 individuals attending various sessions. The event ended with a tour and social time held jointly with the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association (FMA) at the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee. |
