About the RAVE Creativity Forge
Montana Tech and its Rocky Mountain Agile Virtual Enterprise Technical Development Center (RAVE TDC) provides hands-on technical education and manufacturing prototyping, and is a partnership between Montana Tech, RAVE, Haas and King Machine Inc., which is Haas' representative in Montana and Idaho. The Forge is a Haas Technical Education Center, one of only 51 in the nation. The center is the new home to Montana Tech's robotic GMA welder, to a robotic GTAW system donated by Edwards AFB and to a computer numerically controlled (CNC) lathe and vertical mini-mill developed by Haas Automation, Inc.
Directions to the RAVE Creativity Forge
From the center of Butte on I-15/I-90,
- take the Harrison Avenue South Exit 127A. (Harrison Ave is MT Route 2)
- go south on Harrison Ave about 5 miles
(past the Airport on the left, past Walmart on the right, past the Montana Tech College of Technology on the right)
- turn right on South Parkmont road
( there is a Fed Ex building just before South Parkmont, and a small Montana Tech Research Park sign at the corner of South Parkmont and Harrison)
- go west on South Parkmont approximately 0.5 mile
- turn left at the first drive into the Montana Tech Research Park
- the three buildings to the right are the RAVE Creativity Forge
- walk in the first building

About AsiMI
- Producer of high purity polycrystalline silicon and silicon gases for the integrated circuit industry.
- We operate high temperature pressure vessels and piping containing hydrogen, chlorosilanes, and silane gases and liquids.
- We weld Incoloy 800 and 825, Hastelloy C-276, Ferralium 255, a variety of austenitic stainless steels, and carbon steels both manually and automatically (orbital welding). Our welding technicians are certified to ASME IX and AWS D1.1.
- We conduct in-house pressure testing and NDE for structural and process equipment welding and process equipment Mechanical Integrity using UT, UTT, PT, VT. RT, AE, and ET is conducted by a contractor. Our NDE technicians are certified in accordance with ASNT-TC-1A.
- We are one of the only employers in the state of Montana with a VR Stamp (pressure relief device repair authorization) and an R-Stamp (pressure vessel repair authorization), administered through the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors.
Directions to ASiMI
- from the center of Butte, take I-90 West (toward Anaconda/Missoula) and drive west about 10 miles to Exit 121, (toward Idaho Falls, I-15 South).
- take Exit 121 onto Interstate 15 South.
- take Exit 119 (Hub Access Silver Bow) and turn right at the stop sign.
- proceed over the bridge and take the first left turn, Rick Jones Way, as indicated by the ASiMI V-2000 sign.
- continue along Rick Jones Way 1.8 miles to the ASiMI plant.
- guest parking is located near the Commons building.
- please check in with the receptionist in the lobby.

- exit I-15/I-90 at Montana Street
- go north on Montana Street to Park Street
- turn west (left) on Park Street
- Park Street ends at Montana Tech
- the Student Union Building is the second building on the left after the Marcus Daley statue
- parking is available further on Park Street just past the library on the right
(Dinner will be a buffet at about $12 per guest, I will need a body count by Jan 17, 2005)
