Back to CINCINNATI AWS Home Page Kid's Welding Night Huge Success Seventy two kids from 8 to 18 years old attended the Cincinnati Section's first kid's welding night! It was an awesome experience with hands on GMAW, GTAW, and Plasma Cutting on both steel and aluminum. There were six stations each controlled by a welding supervisor to teach safety first, then welding. Let a kid strike an arc and they will never forget it! Thank you to the welding supervisors: Steve Rottman, Lou Vitucci, Barney Goins, Len Prokapchak, Chuck Cooper, Jerry Luster, Tim Calardo, and Randy Coates. They made the event a memorable evening for everyone who attended. Many thanks to Steve Rottman welding instructor at J.D. Patton Vocational School for being our host. Thanks to John Hertsenberg and F&M Mafco for donating gloves and welding caps to the event. Mr. Lou Vitucci of Lincoln Electric, and Mr. Uwe Aschenmeier of H.C. Nutting Company were both presented Meritorious Service Awards for many valued years of service to the Cincinnati Section.
